Adventures - Present

Singapore to Sydney By the Seat of My Pants

Friday, November 27th, 2009

The plan for next week beginning the 3rd of December is an adventure by any means from Singapore to Sydney with absolutely no preparation to raise awareness and funds for Inspire and to have a bloody good time. The plan…

  1. Step off plane illegally with one way ticket and fight my way through customs with only a backpack.
  2. Get dressed up and ‘rock out with my cock out’ for Asian TV Awards night (nominated for three awards)
  3. Hang around for a few days of meetings.
  4. Hitchhike/bus/boat/motorbike/bullock my way to Darwin by land and sea.
  5. From Darwin will pick up my Adventuring Yamaha WR250R and ride home end of February.
  6. * I will stop mid way for 6wks to finish writing a book for Pan Macmillan – but will still be blogging

I will also be writing articles for Alpha, Australasian DirtBike Magazine and Trailbike Adventure Magazine as well as shooting some online stuff for Lonely Planet TV. See you on the road…

I am taking iPhone, a Leica D-LUX 4 that shoots HD and a Panasonic Toughbook. Its a bit of a social media experiment. Learning the ropes. Currently a bit of a simpleton in this department but hopefully by the end will have mastered the art :) Cheers for the luck. I’ll be doing some stuff for lonelyplanet.tv but the focus is on social media, writing, photos, short video and mapping. Also doing articles for a few mags.

Was… but can’t get it through customs fast enough. It won’t arrive till Christmas. So instead, I’ll try and steal/borrow bikes and other vehicles on the way. Have my purpose built Yamaha WR250R waiting for me in Darwin. Woot woot!

You know what would an interesting experiment. Singapore to Sydney by social networking. On the trip back you are only allowed to make plans / arrangements using Facebook and Twitter. Nothing else. Good luck!
