A real adventure along the spine of Australia

The Great Dividing Range creeps out of the Tasman Sea, over the Snowy Mountains and meanders through thousands of kilometres of alpine pasture, semi-desert and rainforest, across the entire length of Australia’s eastern seaboard to Cape York – the northernmost point in Australia. Have you ever dreamt of travelling the length of Australia from the bottom to the top end?

This sounds like an extraordinary adventure! I completed the Postie Bike Challenge (Brisbane to Alice Springs) in 2006 and it was great… ready for something on a slightly bigger bike now.
Keen to get on the April/May 2010 trip Tassie to Cape York… look forward to more info in due course.
Hope to see some of you then.

Hi Steve, I completed my gt divide ride last month(stage 3) and yes you were right about the Cracow pub! All up with return trips I clocked up 14680ks on the klr and took 28 days. All the best on the next trip! But hey!
Are you going through Barrington tops on your way south?, It would be a privlage to have you autograph a dvd and get a photo.
    kind regards Geoff

Hey Geoff, Yeah the Cracow pubs pretty cool eh? Did you get your head punched in? I missed out unfortunately, Fred’s son was too hungover and didn’t want to fight. Good effort on your Kwaka. If I head into Barrington you should come out and meet us somewhere? Maybe show us a few good local trails? Its a privilege for someone to ask for my autograph besides the petrol station attendant down the road… good luck on your future rides mate.

  4. Geoff Clarke Says:

On ya Steve, Yes mate let us know when your comming through and I’ll deck the cub out as the Gt dividing caf’e on Barrington…!
It can’t compare with your travel’s but after riding Arnhemland, Broome, the Flinders Ra. and around the NSW border etc.The Great divide ride would have to be one of the most hardcore and safest adventure rides on earth!…and those never ending mountains!

  5. Geoff Clarke Says:

I called into the Cracow pub after the ride from the Theodore hotel were I stayed overnight, That to was an experence, as hell broke lose when on state of origin night I walked in with a blue shirt on! Have you ever been booed by 200 people when walking into a pub!?…but what a great bunch of people!
